Project Title: Post Flood Disaster Blanket distribution in Begusarai, Bihar - 2016

Project Location: Rachyahi Panchayat and Nagar Nigam Panchayat, Begusarai Block, Bihar.
Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA) responded with food, non food items and health relief to the year's second spill of flood in Bihar which badly impacted parts of the Begusarai district. The districts adjoining the Ganga were got swamped and having population badly affected by the current of water moving in the houses.
EHA provided relief to the 700 families flood victims who were from the most vulnerable groups of the community like Widow, People with disabilities, pregnant women & lactating mother and Aged from Rachiyahi and Nand Nagar panchayats of Begusarai district. The beneficiaries belongs to Paswan, Yadav, Rajat, Bien, Thakur, Sah, Das who are from poor and scheduled communities.
The post flood relief activity of distribution of blanket was carried out to meet the emerging needs of the flood victims as winter approaches in Begusarai district. The target beneficiaries includes the Aged and the Widow from the flood affected village/Tola from Kailashpur, Akashpur, Kachahari Tol, Balapur, Rachiyahi, Dhobi Tol and Thakur Tol of Rachiyahi and Nand Nagar panchayats of Begusarai district.
300 blankets distributed to the identified individual, one blanket to one individual on 8th December, 2016 at MSS centre in Begusarai, Bihar. The beneficiaries were identified through Household Beneficiary Survey by the trained volunteers.
The beneficiaries expressed their hearty thanks and gratefulness to MCC & EHA for providing them with blanket to keep them warm during the cold winter.
